Interview with Tuncay Kalelioğlu in Arts en Auto
Dutch healthcare magazine Arts en Auto published an in-depth interview with our dentist and founder Tuncay Kalelioğlu. He talks about his journey from Izmir to Utrecht, his passion for the profession, and the founding of Tandarts Utrecht Centrum.
Eleven years ago Tuncay came from Turkey to the Netherlands in search of freedom and room for free thinking. In the interview with journalist Adri van Beelen he speaks openly about that transition and how he has come to feel completely at home here.
After twelve years working as a dentist in Izmir, Istanbul and Bursa, he first joined a number of Dutch practices before founding Tandarts Utrecht Centrum together with Turkish and Dutch colleagues. Comparing the two countries, he notes that Dutch patients visit the dentist more often and that oral health is better here, in part because of the strong focus on prevention.
Alongside dentistry, Tuncay makes music under the artist name Kalelio, songs about freedom and happiness. He tries to bring that same calm and relaxation into the treatment room for his patients.
